Another successful Hometown Fest has wrapped up in Strathroy, with thousands of people enjoying live music, the midway, food, and family activities throughout the weekend.
Festival Chair Richard McCammon says in terms of the concerts, this year was execptional.
Friday also saw strong attendance.
McCammon says the rain delay on Saturday did not stop people from returning once the storm passed.
The expanded midway was one of the biggest attractions this year. Hundreds of people also enjoyed Vendors Alley, food trucks, and the beer garden.
The annual softball tournament also returned to Royals Park in downtown Strathroy and drew a strong turnout.
McCammon says Hometown Fest continues to grow because the community enjoys coming together each year. He also thanked the many local sponsors, businesses, and volunteers who helped make the festival possible.
Planning is already underway for next year’s event.
The committee is also looking for more volunteers to help with next year’s festival. Anyone interested will be able to learn more at the annual general meeting this fall.
