Strathroy-Caradoc Police are investigating a vehicle registration fraud that led officers to uncover a series of reVINs. Police were first alerted to the suspected fraud in May, and the investigation by the Street Crime Unit revealed stolen vehicles had been assigned fake or reused Vehicle Identification Numbers to disguise their identities. In June, with help from Chatham-Kent Police, one of the vehicles was recovered in Chatham-Kent. Investigators confirmed it had been stolen from the Greater Toronto Area in 2023. Anyone with information is asked to contact Strathroy-Caradoc Police or Crime Stoppers.
