The Women’s Rural Resource Centre is inviting the community to take part in an awareness walk tomorrow, Thursday, July 30th, to recognize World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
Organizers say human trafficking is happening in Middlesex County and in local Indigenous communities. They hope the event will help people learn the warning signs, understand the issue, and connect with local support services.
The walk begins at 10 a.m. at the Women’s Rural Resource Centre, located at 145 Beech Street in Strathroy, and continues to Alexandra Park.
The event will also include guest speakers, community stories, drumming, performances, time for reflection, and a community lunch.
Everyone is welcome to attend. Participants are encouraged to wear blue and bring family, friends, and coworkers to help raise awareness and show support for survivors.
