A 24-year-old London driver suffered life-threatening injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 402 near Strathroy early Sunday morning. Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened shortly before 7 a.m. between Hickory Drive and Centre Road when a sedan struck a guardrail before leaving the roadway. The driver was taken to a local hospital in critical condition. Eastbound Highway 402 between Centre Road and Hickory Drive was closed for several hours while investigators examined the scene. Middlesex OPP continues to investigate and is asking anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash camera footage to contact police.
