Well you can check 2 out of 3 big time hockey trophies for Strathroy native and Toronto Maple Leafs Easton Cowan as this past season helped the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League capture the Calder Cup. He’ll show it off Sunday for the community of Strathroy and says the run to the championship was special.
Cowan who once brought Canadian Junior Hockey’s Memorial Cup to town for a viewing and autograph session will do it again with the Calder on Sunday.
He says it’s important to come back home in this way or any way to show appreciation for how his hometown supported him through his hockey years.
That’s the one cup that still fuels his work ethic daily and that’s the Stanley Cup which he says would complete an amazing hat trick of trophies. Easton brings the Calder Cup to Caradoc Sands from 12-2pm Sunday.
