And they’re off!
The nomination period ended on Friday (August 21st) and now we know all the individuls running for Strathroy-Caradoc council as an October election looms.
There’s a race for Mayor, with incumbent Colin Grantham running against Brian Derbyshire, a councillor in Ward 2 who’s been outspoken many times about council decisions.
Incumbent Deputy Mayor Mike McGuire also has some competition in Bradley Bock and Mark Eyre.
7 people are running for the 4 seats in Ward 1, including incumbents Steve Pelkman and Donna Pammer…but Frank Kennes, and John Brennan didn’t seek re-election. The others running are former long-time councillor Brad Richards, Kevin Morrison, Matthew Hall, Al Azevedo and William Kampers.
The 3 seats in Ward 2, Caradoc, have 5 individuals fighting for them, including incumbents Greg Willsie and Sandi Hipple.
The others in the race are Sheri Faccenda, Charles Reath, and Joshua Randall.

As far as school board trustees go, Josh Lamb has no competition for the London District Catholic School Board seat, Bev Noble, Christian Sachs and Bill Tichenoff are running for the Thames Valley District School Board seat, Rachid Barrima is the only candidate running as trustee for Conseil scolaire Viamonde and there are no candidates for Conseil scolaire catholique Providence.
