The Strathroy Rockets are looking for local families to open their homes to players for the upcoming hockey season. Billet Coordinator Colleen Wiendels explains what a billet player is.
Wiendels says players quickly become part of the family and often join in family activities and gatherings.
As for what the billet family needs to provide for the player?
Billet families receive a monthly payment to help cover costs, two season passes to Rockets games, and invitations to team events, including the season-ending banquet.
She has been a billet family herself for several years and says it is a rewarding experience.
Anyone interested in becoming a billet family is encouraged to contact the Strathroy Rockets for more information.
