Residents in Strathroy-Caradoc will head to the polls on October 26th to choose who they want representing them on municipal council.
Colin Grantham says he is ready to seek another term as mayor of Strathroy-Caradoc.
Grantham, who is currently serving on council as mayor, says he is excited to return to the campaign trail and continue working for residents across Strathroy, Mount Brydges, Melbourne, and the surrounding area.
He says one of the biggest strengths of the current council has been its willingness to debate important issues. Grantham believes healthy discussion is necessary and says council members are not expected to agree on everything.
Grantham says disagreements are a normal part of democracy and that council has continued to move projects forward despite differing opinions.
He pointed to several accomplishments from the current term, including progress on the Mount Brydges wastewater treatment plant, upgrades to the Strathroy plant, road projects, and the completion of the new fire hall.
Grantham also said improving customer service at town hall has been one of council’s biggest successes. He says residents have noticed a more open and welcoming atmosphere at the municipal office compared to previous years.
While admitting council had a slower start early in the term, Grantham described it as “growing pains” while council and staff adjusted and found their footing.
Looking ahead to the 2026 municipal election, Grantham has some competition as Brian Derbyshire has thrown his name in the ring for mayor.
The municipal election in Ontario will take place on October 26, 2026.
