The closure of the Senior’s Centre in Strathroy still rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but town hall is slowly working towards getting some senior and other community programming back into the facility. They’re also launching a pilot project for those 55+ called Active Days, with most programs in Mount Brydges.
Julia Kitchen is the Seniors Recreation Program Coordinator for Strathroy-Caradoc and tells myFM they kick everything off with an open house next week.

Kitchen says people need to remember that Strathroy has senior’s programs going on too, and the Caradoc Community Centre was chosen because it’s a good facility that’s available.
Strathroy’s senior’s programming is at the West Middlesex Memorial Centre. Kitchen says the old senior’s centre will likely be used again.
The current focus for the former senior’s centre, at 137 Frank Street, is on relocating Municipal Customer Service this fall.
