The Strathroy and Area Probus Club has been named the myFM Ricco Foods Community Partner for the month of October!
Club president Richard Bolton told myFM about the group.
Bolton says the club is part of a larger organization that started overseas.
Today, Probus has about 40,000 members across Canada, including roughly 70 in Strathroy and the surrounding area.
Members enjoy guest speakers, group outings, field trips and social gatherings. Recent activities have included visits to a music museum, a dairy farm with its own natural gas system and a collection of antique cars.
The club has also welcomed speakers from organizations like VON, local police and fire services, covering topics such as seniors’ health, fire safety and fraud prevention.
The club also plans educational presentations on local history.
The annual membership fee is $30, and anyone interested can attend a meeting for free to see what the club is all about.
The Probus Club of Strathroy and Area is welcoming new members who want to stay connected and involved in the community.
