Strathroy-Caradoc will hold a public meeting this evening during Council to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment for 301 Second Street in Strathroy. The application is seeking to amend the Official Plan to allow a stand-alone residential use on the property, specifically a long-term care or retirement facility.
The proposed rezoning would establish a site-specific Highway Commercial (C2) zone for the property. The new zoning would set development standards for the proposed facility, including requirements related to setbacks and lot coverage. The application is also requesting changes to two existing development requirements. The maximum front and exterior yard width would increase from three metres to 17 metres.
The proposal would also allow for a six-storey building, compared with the current maximum of four storeys, or 15 metres. The public meeting will provide an opportunity for residents and other interested parties to learn more about the proposal and provide feedback to Council.
If you have comments or questions about this application, please provide them to planning@strathroy-caradoc.ca and Tim Williams at twilliams@middlesex.ca or by calling 519-930-1007.
