The Salvation Army’s annual Christmas Hamper program is set to get underway over the coming weeks in Strathroy.
The initiative provides local families in need with everything they need for a Christmas dinner, according to Tasha Hebert, Community and Family Services Support Worker for the Salvation Army in Strathroy.
Successful applicants will also be provided access to some toys to give their kids on the big day.
Hebert says residents who want to apply for the program can book an appointment with the Strathroy Salvation Army.
With the Salvation Army Food Bank currently servicing roughly 100 more people each month than last year, Hebert says she expects demand for the Christmas Hamper program to be high this holiday season.
Sign-ups opened on September 30th, and Hebert says they’ll remain open until November 27th.
More information on the program, including details on how to book an appointment to apply, are available on the Strathroy Salvation Army website.
