Strathroy-Caradoc Police are reminding students to make safe choices and treat others with respect following a fight involving high school students at the Gemini Sportsplex.
Police say they responded to a report of an assault at the facility on September 25th, 2026.
As a result of the investigation, a 14-year-old was arrested and charged with assault and uttering threats. The youth was released through extrajudicial measures, which allow certain cases involving young people to be handled outside the formal court process.
Here’s Strathroy-Caradoc Police Constable Kathrine Lockwood.
Lockwood tells myFM other charges were laid as well.
The Strathroy-Caradoc Police Service says violence, threats and behaviour that encourages violence will not be tolerated.
Police are reminding students that community facilities like the Gemini Sportsplex are shared spaces, and everyone has a role in keeping them safe and welcoming.
Parents are also being encouraged to talk with their children about making responsible choices, respecting others and following the rules at public facilities.
