It was a bitter sweet final Strathroy-Caradoc council meeting for at least two councillors…John Brennan and Frank Kennis both decided not to seek re-election.
They were celebrated and thanked by many other council members last night, including Steve Pelkman, who’s served with both for decades. He had this to say to Frank Kennes.
Pelkman and John Brennan were often top vote-getters.
The Mayor gave Kennes and Brennan the final words of the council meeting…and here’s a bit of what Kennes had to say.
Admitting this latest council term has often “been difficult,” Kennes hoped for a better future.
Councillor John Brennan, who never once lost an election he ran in, had this to say about attributes needed in future council members.
Brennan wished future councils’ success.
Both Kennes and Brennan thanked voters, staff and fellow councillors for their support over the years.
The next council meeting with be with a new council …and is set for November 16th.
