The Strathroy-Caradoc Canada Day committee has donated $10,000 to VON’s Ontario Student Nutrition Program (OSNP), helping provide nourishing food to students at seven local schools in Strathroy-Caradoc.
The donation will support the VON program’s work with seven local schools to develop and deliver nourishing breakfast, snack and lunch programs that advance students’ health, well-being and academic success.
“Student Nutrition Programs rely heavily on the generosity of our community, and this $10,000 donation will make a meaningful difference,” says Laura Bos, OSNP Community Development Coordinator for Middlesex and Elgin Counties. “VON’s OSNP strives to ensure that every student has access to nutritious food at school. With the collaboration of our generous community partners, we can support children and youth to learn, focus and thrive at school. We are grateful to Strathroy-Caradoc Canada Day, its sponsors, volunteers and community supporters for helping fuel the potential of local students.”
By directing proceeds to student nutrition, the committee is extending the impact of the Canada Day community event throughout the school year.
