Shawn Pranger is one of six Middlesex-London EMS paramedics that were awarded the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal last week in Windsor. The award is presented to paramedics who have served for at least 20 years in a meritorious manner, characterized by the highest standards of good conduct, industry and efficiency. Pranger says it’s nice to receive the recognition for his 24 years of service.
He found his passion in becoming a paramedic through a co-op program at SDCI and followed through with it. 115 Ontario paramedics received the award this year. They were announced at The Ontario Association of Paramedic Chiefs AGM awards dinner. The others from Middlesex-London were Lynda Jackson, Al Riese, William Sadler, Chris Mortier, and Dustin Sutherland.
