On Wednesday, The Florence Nightingale Home Foundation donated $5,000 towards the purchase of a new portable mechanical lift at Strathroy Middlesex General Hospital.
President Peggy South says they make five donations of $5,000 a year to hospitals across Ontario. And while they may not be a bigger, flashy number, they are more than necessary.
The lift helps nurses get patients in and out of hospital beds easier and safer. The various SMGH wings currently share a small handful of them across the hospital.
The donation was made possible because the Strathroy O.E.S Veritas Chapter applied for it, and worthy matron Robin McLenon told myFM it’s very exciting they were successful.
