A public bus service is coming to Strathroy-Caradoc. The Ontario government announced Thursday an investment of $1.45 million to link a commuter bus service for residents of Strathroy and Mt. Brydges to London and Sarnia. Lambton-Kent-Middlesex MPP and Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development Monte McNaughton made the funding announcement in Strathroy at town hall. He says bringing people together and giving them reliable transportation is what makes this an important resource to have.
Strathroy-Caradoc Deputy Mayor Brad Richards spoke to myFM about what this means to residents.
As for the busses themselves they will range between 10 to 24 seats each, and will have a minimum of two round trips per day five days a week. Fees will apply but the charges won’t be excessive, according to Strathroy-Caradoc Economic Development Officer Demetri Makrakos. The busses are expected to get on the ground by Spring 2020.
