STATEMENT FROM CMHA MIDDLESEX MAY 19, 2020
As of today, May 19, many businesses and organizations have been provided the green light from the Government of Ontario to move forward with in-person services, as they are able, as part of the first phase of reopening Ontario. CMHA Middlesex is included in this list of organizations that are able to begin the process of reopening to the public.
As an organization, CMHA Middlesex has taken much care and consideration in adjusting our service delivery model to operate some programming through phone or virtual means. Through this entire process, the integrity of our services, as well as the safety of our staff, participants and the community have been our top priority. As we begin to navigate our return to offering more face-to-face services, our priorities remain the same.
While some businesses and organizations will begin opening their doors today, Tuesday, May 19, CMHA Middlesex will continue to offer phone and virtual services. Exceptions include, the Mental Health and Addictions Crisis Centre located at 648 Huron Street, London, which is open 24/7 as well as our housing programs, My Sisters’ Place (providing bagged lunches, basic needs and harm reduction kits), transitional case management safely providing care packages to participants and Strathroy and Exeter staff safely providing participants with meals and care packages.
We are in the process of developing policies and procedures, obtaining additional protective equipment, as well as creating the appropriate spaces to deliver services in a face-to-face setting. We are actively working on a gradual return to in-person services, as they are appropriate, safe and manageable for our staff, participants, and the community.
CMHA Middlesex will continue to share announcements regarding changes to services through our website and social media, as they are available.
