Registration is now open for 2021 Terry Fox events, which includes the annual fundraiser Marathon of Hope, among others. Terry’s brother Fred Fox works as Manager of Supporter Relations with the Terry Fox Foundation. He says the plan is be virtual again this year; however, there is hope for smaller in-person events by the fall.
With how things are going here in Ontario, that may be less likely than other provinces. Last year was the first Terry Fox Run to be held virtual. Fred says it went well considering the challenges. Canadians managed to (virtually) come together and give it their all, just like Terry, in hopes of raising funds and awareness. This June will mark 40-years since Terry passed away. Fred thinks his brother would be proud to see how far they have come.
You can register for a number of events that will take place this year. Whether it’s the Run itself, the Terry Fox Ride of Hope or the Terry Fox Trek, there are many ways to get involved. You can raise funds alone, as part of a team, or with your school. The Foundation even offers merchandise, with proceeds going towards finding a cure for cancer.
