Parkhill’s Taya Currie could make OHL history this weekend as being the first girl ever to be drafted by the OHL. The 16-year old goaltender has been playing with the Triple A boys team for the last 7 years since minor atom in the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs system. Whether drafted or not this weekend, she has a few roads she can choose including a junior hockey career, or convert to the girls’ game and pursue her goal of being an Olympian. Dylan Seca, general manager of the Sarnia Sting told CTV News “It would not be surprising to that she’s gone before we even wanted to pick her ourselves.”
