On Sunday evening, a family of 5 were targeted by a 20-year-old man who drove a car up onto the curb of the sidewalk the family were on, hitting them, killing 4 members of the family and leaving a 9 year old boy an orphan.
Strathroy-Caradoc Mayor Joanne Vanderheyden wants the members of our community to know that acts like this will not be welcome or tolerated, and each one of us must take a moment to look at ourselves and reflect on how we can do better.
Vanderheyden believes its important to show others that we stand with the people of London during this time.
Vanderheyden said that this act was horrible, and at Town Hall the flags are lowered to half staff. She said town council Monday had a moment of silence in addition to her reaching out to London Mayor Ed Holder to express her and the Strathroy-Caradoc community’s support.
