Homelessness in the Strathroy-Caradoc community is increasing, with other factors also, like mental health and addiction issues. Strathroy-Caradoc Police Chief Mark Campbell says that the police force and the community are doing what they can to help out, and in partnership with the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) they have been able to help a lot of individuals who are experiencing these things. He added that the police service are doing what they can to understand more how they can help.
Chief Campbell said that these issues are ones they deal with every day, and every case is a different one on its own.
Campbell pointed out that our community has a lot of services available to people who need them, but sometimes they do require relocating, which isn’t always easy.
He added that the different organizations in the area like CMHA and others have been a big help in aiding those affected, as well as the ones that help at the county level.
