Western University had their Homecoming weekend last weekend, which normally involves students decked out in Purple and White taking over the neighbourhoods near the school, specifically Broughdale Avenue. However, with the pandemic this year, things looked a little different. London Mayor Ed Holder thanked the majority of western students during a Health Unit conference call Tuesday who understand and respect the fact that we are currently living in a pandemic, and who respected the health unit’s advice and warnings going into, what’s normally, a party weekend. Though the day went well for the most part, Mayor Holder says that things changed at night.
Mayor Holder also took a moment to thank all the first responders for everything they did on the weekend.
