Charges are pending for three women in the operation of an unauthorized online bingo lottery. St. Thomas Police say they are investigating after receiving a report from one victim’s family that is out $5000 as a result of the scam. Police confirmed that the three organizers were in fact not licensed with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario and the online bingo was fraudulent.
A 53-year-old Strathroy woman was arrested Wednesday night, and taken into custody without incident and charged with one count of Lottery Not Authorized and one count Fraud Under $5000. She was later released and will appear in court to answer to the charges. A 62-year-old woman from Strathroy and a 61-year-old woman from Rodney are wanted by police.
