Life is a little more “grand” for Timothy (Tim) Poore of Parkhill. He matched all five main numbers to win a second prize of $25,000 a year for life with DAILY GRAND in the January 17, 2022 draw. Tim opted for the lump sum prize of $500,000.
Tim has been a regular lottery player with OLG for about 30 years. “I’ve been playing since the Wintario days. This is my first big win,” he shared while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to pick up his winnings.
The 61-year-old maintenance worker discovered his win while at the store picking up coffee and lottery tickets. “I remembered there was a ticket in my car console, so I brought it inside to check,” he recalled. “I scanned it at the Ticket Checker and it said, ‘Big Winner!’”
Tim says he couldn’t wait to tell his wife about his big win. “I told her we have another lottery winner in Parkhill and she said, ‘Really? Who?’ and I said, ‘Me!'” he laughed.
“I’m going to take this win as an opportunity to slow down a bit and get ready for retirement. We plan to do some work around the house and install our dream bathroom. I might treat myself to a new vehicle,” he concluded.
