It’s a case of no harm no foul in Warwick Township. Recently, the Township’s Integrity Commissioner Robert J. Swayze provided a response to Council regarding correspondence referred by Council from Township residents about public comments made by Mayor Jackie Rombouts related to the Convoy protest on Highway 402. Mr. Swayze concluded, that he could not find that the comments were contrary to the Code or the Social Media Policy. Back in February, Council passed a motion to forward the Information Correspondence Package regarding the 402 Freedom Convoy to the Integrity Commissioner for review in relation to the Township’s Code of Conduct. Members of Council did not submit a complaint against Mayor Rombouts on behalf of council. This week at Council, they agreed that following the letter from the Integrity Commissioner, this issue is considered resolved. No wrong doing was found and Council is moving forward.
