It will be a zero percent tax increase in Adelaide Metcalfe Township for 2022 as the municipality recently approved its budget. This year the residents of the Township were asked for their budget feedback through a survey and the response was really good. CAO Morgan Calvert says as far as the budgetary process itself, he felt it was successful.
Tax revenue went up 4.1% which Calvert attributes to more projects coming to the municipality including the Centre Road Commercial Corridor revenue.
The zero percent tax increase means the home owner with an assessment of $300,000 would pay $2,089 for the year which compared to 2018, is just $14 more.
Commercial taxes made up 7% of revenue, while $2.2 million or 51% came from Township residents. Second Street to Buttery Creek sidewalks and lighting will get some focus as $270,000 will go to the roads department. The Operating budget for Adelaide Metcalfe went from $6.15 million in 2021 down to $5.32 million this year.
