This week, Monte McNaughton, MPP for Lambton-Kent-Middlesex announced $120,000 in joint funding for the final piece of the Kineto Theatre renovations in Forest. Following several improvements, including linking two heritage buildings together and upgrades to make the facility fully accessible. This investment is made through the Community, Culture, and Recreation Stream of the Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program. The Government of Ontario is investing almost $40,000 toward the project, while the Government of Canada is contributing $48,000.
Also, McNaughton announced a provincial investment of over $4 million in four projects to improve infrastructure in southwestern Ontario including rehabilitating the Parkhill Main Street Watermain and reconstructing the road above the water main to improve traffic flow, walk-ability, and marketability of the Parkhill district in North Middlesex, installing backup power for the Southwest Middlesex Reservoir, and replacing the Sunset Avenue, John Street, Erie Street, and St. Clair Street water mains in Warwick, to improve water pressure and reduce water loss.
These projects are a part of a joint investment towards 144 water infrastructure projects across Ontario that will provide residents with safer and more reliable drinking water and drinking water infrastructure. The Government of Ontario is providing more than $140.5 million in these projects, Infrastructure Canada is investing more than $190.2 million, while recipients are contributing more than $108.5 million.
