This week’s Destination Local Feature fueled by Grand Bend Speedway is Grand Bend Speedway. The track is a 1/4 mile paved Tri-Oval and was built back in 1996 located just 3 kms from Grand Bend at the Grand Bend Motorplex facility on its own property and entrance. The track that was formerly dubbed “The Bull Ring” has been owned for the last 3 years, 2 of them inside a pandemic by Tabitha Van Bruwaene who says they moved their Sunday afternoon races in 2021 to Saturday nights at 7pm because focusing on family enjoyment was important to them.
Overnight camping is always an extra bonus and is included on Race Night with your Admission Ticket. There are racing divisions each week involving drivers ranging in age from 10 to over 50 and she says showing the racers that the track cares, hopefully keeps them coming back.
The track also offers the Around the Bend Driving Experience which General Manager Gord Bennett says gets you right behind the wheel.
Plenty more information on the driving experience, plus a full season schedule and prices can be found at grandbendspeedway.ca. Grand Bend Speedway, this week’s Destination Local Feature.
