More High Speed Internet is coming to us. The Ontario Government is bringing more high speed internet access for up to 266,000 unserved homes and businesses. This is another milestone to help connect the province by 2025.
Eight agreements have been signed with eight internet providers to bring access to 339 municipalities, including Strathroy-Caradoc and the surrounding communities. Ontario’s high-speed internet initiatives will help ensure that every home and business, in every community, can participate in today’s economy.
“This competitive process is the first of its kind in Canada and has led to an unprecedented market response and commitment to deliver high-speed internet connections to communities that have been left unserved until now,” said Michael Lindsay, President and CEO of Infrastructure Ontario. “We at Infrastructure Ontario are proud to help create a connected, modern and competitive Ontario.”
Here’s what’s coming to Strathroy-Caradoc and area:
Bragg Communications will serve Brook-Alvinston and Petrolia. They have been granted $69 Million and will serve up to 9507 unserved houses.
North Frontenac Telephone Company will serve Adelaide-Metcalfe, Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex, Strathroy-Caradoc and Lucan Biddulph. They have been granted $39.5 Million and will serve up to 3682 unserved houses.
Rogers Communications Canada Inc. will serve Middlesex Centre, North Middlesex and Thames Centre. They have been granted $171 Million and will serve up to 89,295 unserved houses.
Xplornet Communications Inc. will serve Adelaide-Metcalfe, Brooke-Alvinston, Middlesex Centre, Newbury, Southwest Middlesex and Strathroy-Caradoc. They have been granted $240 Million and will serve up to 54,679 unserved houses.
