Right now there are 19 total candidates running in Strathroy-Caradoc for Council and 52% of them have never run for council before, that’s a sign that change is needed and is coming.
If you are serious about running for municipal council for this October’s election you better get cracking as today at 2pm is the deadline for the nomination period to get your name on the ballot. There will be undoubtedly a change in both Strathroy-Caradoc and Adelaide Metcalfe councils come this fall as many current council members are not seeking re-election.
In Strathroy-Caradoc right now we have 4 candidates for the Mayor’s seat, 2 for Deputy Mayor, 7 for Ward One electing just 4, and 6 for Ward Two electing 3.
In Adelaide Metcalfe, only one candidate for Mayor as current Mayor Kurtis Smith has withdrawn, and 7 candidates running for Councillor seating just 4.
Candidates who are running for positions without any opponents will be elected by default at 4 p-m on Monday.
Voters across Ontario are set to cast ballots in municipal council and school board elections on October 24th.
