Get ready to join the Strathroy Scout for the 2022-2023 year. Volunteer with Scouts Canada and Group administrator for the 1st Strathroy Scouts Ken Dunsmore says registration is opening up very soon.
Kids aged 5 to 18 can sign up. Beavers met on Mondays, Cubs on Tuesdays, Scouts on Thursdays and Adventures on Friday.
For the little ones, there is lot’s of socialization, games, crafts and outdoor activities. Kids 4 and under are beavers, 5-7 are Cubs, 11-13 are Scouts and 14-18 are Adventurers. Weekly meetings typically last an hour to an hour and a half.
Strathroy Caradoc has 2 active groups. The 1st Strathroy Scouts meet at the Scout House in Alexandra Park and the Mount Brydges Scouts meet at the Mount Brydges Community Centre.
To sign up you can go to scouts.ca and look under the ‘my scouts’ tab to find your scout troop. The scouts also run the ‘No One Left Behind’ program. Anyone who wants to join scouts but have financial hardships can sign up for No One Left Behind program to help with cost.
