More affordable housing is coming to Forest. Libro Credit Union has joined forces with chapters of Habitat for Humanity throughout Southwestern Ontario to bring more affordable housing, and financial coaching. Lambton-Kent-Middlesex Regional Manager, Natalie Close, says the donation has been split among 4 Habitat for Humanity chapters.
Of that $140,000, $15,000 will be donated to a housing project with Habitat for Humanity Sarnia Lambton in Forest.
Libro has a shared vision with Habitat for Humanity to provide access to adequate, safe and affordable housing. Over 3 years, Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario and Brant-Norfolk Chapter will receive $60,000 for the Heartland on the Thames Build Project in the community of London, and the Upstart: Canada’s first Habitat for Humanity Passive House Project in the County of Brant, Brantford, Ontario. Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex will receive $45,000 and it will be invested in local projects including the 3 new homes in the Ford City Build. Habitat for Humanity Waterloo Region will receive $20,000 that will be invested in the Kehl Street build project and Cambridge Shantz Hill project.
