The road to more residential in Strathroy’s north end took another step this week at Council as a report was received for information only at this point for an application for Zoning By-law Amendment for 390 Second Street, to High Density Residential. This is proposing 6 storey apartment buildings with 226 units, 137 townhomes and 21 single detached dwellings with access to Second Street eventually from road extensions to Adair Boulevard and Thorne Drive, part of the North Meadows Secondary Plan, as well as a temporary pumping station for municipal service. A Virtual Neighbourhood Open House happened November 23rd, 2022, with members of the public and Council in attendance, and comments ranging from pedestrians safety to service capacity for the project. This is an application right now for re-zoning, and a subdivision application will come later on after the re-zoning process is complete.
