Strathroy-Caradoc’s Fire Chief is applauding the latest move by the Ford government to invest $700,000 in additional training. myFM spoke with Chief Brent Smith.
The training will focus on fighting fires in hazardous situations in small and rural communities as well as courses for automobile extraction, elevator rescue and boating and water safety. Chief Smith there was one area of funding he took particular note of.
The Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association is receiving over $367,000 for the Fire Ground Survival Program and more than $65,000 for the Peer Support Program.
