Strathroy-Caradoc continues to grow both commercially and residentially and the latter was discussed at council this week as council approved the receiving of information only at this point for an applications for subdivision official plan amendment and rezoning for the County Lane area submitted for the development of a residential subdivision containing 359 dwellings units, 11 single-detached dwelling lots, 104 semi-detached (linked homes), and 19 townhouse lots. An Open House was held on March 22nd, 2023, with neighbouring residents attending and voicing concerns regarding the impact on County Lane, the proposed intersection at Albert Street, and more. Those concerns also raised during Monday’s council public meeting. The applicants are proposing two public road connections from the south on to Albert Street and one to the north Saulsbury Street. While the property does border County Lane there is no intention to connect to it which is under Adelaide-Metcalfe jurisdiction.
