Bringing you the latest on the interim solution and current status of the Mount Brydges Wastewater Treatment facility, which was brought to the attention of the council following a request from Councillor Derbyshire in June. According to the report, the Municipality had submitted an application in May 2022 for an interim solution aimed at improving equalization at the facility. However, progress on implementing the proposed changes is pending an updated Environmental Compliance Approval (ECA). The Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks (MECP) has informed that the application is currently under review. During the first half of this year, the facility has faced challenges in meeting treatment objectives, with several instances of exceeding the sewage quality limits specified in the Environmental Compliance Approval. In addition, an ECA application for permanent process improvements was submitted in January of this year, but no updates have been received at this time.
