Start off the holiday season in Strathroy in style later this month with the Strathroy Lions Club. Coming up November 24th will be the 14th annual Lions Tree Lighting Ceremony and first year under the Strathroy Lions banner after the two local clubs merged earlier this year, and with the event being hosted by the former Strathroy-Caradoc Lions Club since 2009.
Chairman Ron Small says plans are coming together to have a wonderful evening downtown.
Small says the tree lighting is an important community event that started years ago.
Non-perishable food donations will be collected during the event and will be given to the Salvation Army. The tree lighting festivities will follow the Hometown Christmas event and market.
