While the regular weekend markets have come to an end in Strathroy, there is one more special market taking place tonight. The Hometown Christmas Downtown Market comes to town and Strathroy-Caradoc Booking and Events Coordinator Kait Topham says she is excited to see the market come together.
Topham says the Lions Tree Lighting at Town Hall will also be happening this evening.
Front Street will be closed starting at noon in order to start set up for the event. In addition to vendors in the market, there will also be horse & carriage rides, starting at the Shops on Sydenham mall. Here is the full schedule of events.
12pm – road closures and set up begins
2pm – market vendors can arrive for set up
4pm – market opens, AGCO licensing begins, horse & carriage starts from Shops on Sydenham, Santa starts walking around
5:40pm –performances by Dance Factor
6pm – DJ at Town Hall starts
6:30pm – Adelaide MacDonald Public School Choir & dignitaries at Town Hall
7pm – Lions Tree Lighting
8pm – event closes
