Strathroy-Caradoc Council this week directed the Mayor and Clerk to finalize a Conservation Authority Agreement with the Lower Thames River Conservation Authority. This action stems from amendments to the Conservation Authorities Act, necessitating conservation authorities to establish agreements with their member municipalities to levy charges for non-mandatory services.
After discussions with the Authority, the Municipality is set to enter into an agreement delineating both mandatory and non-mandatory services covered by the Authority’s municipal tax levy. Also, in a previous decision from a December Council meeting, the Mayor and Clerk will execute a Conservation Authority Agreement with the St. Clair Region Conservation Authority.
