Strathroy-Caradoc Council has instructed staff to publish an Expression of Interest (EOI) for a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) regarding an arena and community centre development. This recommendation originated from the Mt. Brydges Arena Committee in December of 2023. Municipal staff has been authorized by Council to post it on the ‘Bids and Tenders’ page on the Municipality’s website, along with other suitable platforms.
A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) involves collaboration between a government entity and a private company to deliver a service or project. This model allows for cost-sharing, access to private expertise, and potential improvements in revenue generation. The deadline for submissions is March 22, 2024, after which the Municipality will evaluate proposals and select potential partners for further discussions.
“We are thrilled to launch this Expression of Interest process for the development of an ice arena and
community centre,” says Rob Lilbourne, Director of Community Services. “This project would represent a
significant investment in our community’s future, and we look forward to working closely with potential
partners to bring this vision to life.”
The Municipality invites interested parties to submit a comprehensive Expression of Interest, outlining
their qualifications, relevant experience, and their proposed approach to delivering this landmark project.
The EOI process will allow the Municipality to assess the feasibility and viability of potential partnerships
before proceeding to the next stages of procurement and development.
“We encourage all qualified organizations to participate in this exciting opportunity to help shape the
future of Strathroy-Caradoc,” says Colin Grantham, Mayor of Strathroy-Caradoc. “Together, we can create
a facility that enriches the lives of residents, strengthens community connections, and enhances our
quality of life.”
