Here is a quick snapshot of what’s happening around town in the next 48 hours.
Today, the whole family can go fishing for free without having to purchase a license or carry an Outdoors Card to celebrate Family Day.
DKMB Minor Baseball registration is open now until February 29th. They offer opportunities for kids ages 4 and up including blastball, hardball and girls fastball. New this year- girls fastball teams are now starting at U9. Register online at dkmb.ca by February 29 to avoid a late fee.
If you are looking to be a part of this years Home, Garden a Leisure Show hosted by 105.7 myFM and presented by Sutton Wolf Realty we are still looking for vendors to join the show. You can fill out a form to get a booth here.
Today local businesses may be closed, but in Mount Brydges from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Caradoc Community Centre the Municipality of Strathroy-Caradoc will be celebrating Family Day! You can find out more about the event under the Local News Headlines tab.
Another local Family Day event today at the Ailsa Craig Recreation Centre from 10am-2pm. This is a FREE event for the community and free lunch will be provided! See our community calendar for more details.
Also tonight at Vital Point Church, 9890 Ilderton Rd. Poplar Hill, is a Family Fun Day event. Starting at 1pm today, its a day full of family fun, followed by a movie and snacks. Don’t forget to bring a blanket and a friend!
On Wednesday, there will be a card making class at Compass Community Church. They are making thank you cards for 37 Frank Youth Centre to give their donors. This is a free event! Register by emailing office@compasscommunitychurch.ca
In local sports:
Tomorrow the North Middlesex Stars take on the Port Stanley Sailors at the Port Stanley Arena and Community Centre. Puck drop is set for 8:45pm
If you feel you have what it takes to play with the Strathroy Rockets, fill out a Prospect Form on their website as they are looking for new players to join them on the ice next season.
