Excitement is brewing in town as renowned author and historian Norm Christie is set to make a special presentation on Friday. Hosted by Museum Strathroy-Caradoc, the event promises to wow history enthusiasts and anyone interested in the significance of war cemeteries. Curator Michelle Wright, says this is not the first time Christie has made a presentation to the community, but it has been awhile since he has been here.
Christie is known for his extensive work on Canada’s roles in the World Wars, including the “For King & Empire” series and “Sacred Places” trilogy.
During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to hear about the making of war cemeteries as Christie will shed light on the CWGC in commemorating the 1.7 million Commonwealth Dead from two World Wars across 23,000 sites in 150 countries. Wright says the presentation will explore war cemeteries as time capsules that preserve the battles and individual sacrifices of past generations.
Don’t miss the opportunity to hear from one of Canada’s historians during an unforgettable evening of historical exploration.
