Landspout tornadoes can cause damage by toppling trees, damaging roofs, or tossing debris. Heavy rain can lead to flash floods and water pooling on roads. Severe thunderstorms can also produce tornadoes.
Take cover immediately if the weather looks threatening. If driving, slow down and watch for tail lights ahead. Lightning is dangerous, so go indoors when thunder roars.
Emergency Management Ontario advises taking cover immediately if bad weather approaches.
Severe thunderstorm warnings are issued for storms likely to produce large hail, damaging winds, or heavy rain.
This warning is in effect for Strathroy, Komoka, and Western Middlesex County.
