Baseball players haven’t exactly been batting a thousand when it comes to playing this season. Flooded, soggy fields have kept them and many soccer players sidelined at times or moving locations to find dry fields. Strathroy-Caradoc Director of Community Services Rob Lilbourne says players have been helpful.
Baseball and soccer fields have been affected and some, including Royal’s Field in Alexandra Park, are still off limits until they’re evaluated and cleaned up by the town. Lilbourne is asking everyone to be patient.
Lilbourne says sports teams have been great to work with as they’ve been looking for the best ways to move them to drier spots, so they can still play.
