Strathroy-Caradoc Council has approved a one-year contract with Animal Care Centre Lobo for comprehensive animal control services at $12,500 per month, excluding HST.
This contract ensures continuity of services until August 31, 2025. The contract covers a range of services, including pound keeping, stray animal pickups, adoption programs, medical care, emergency after-hours call-outs, kennel license reviews, enforcement of animal control by-laws, and animal licensing. With $65,000 budgeted for animal control services in 2024, the new contract, along with a previously approved extension for July and August, will result in a $40,000 budget overage.
To address this, additional funds will be drawn from reserves for 2024, with the remainder of the contract expenses included in the 2025 budget.
