Paula Abdul has canceled her upcoming Canadian tour due to health reasons. Wednesday, the 62-year-old singer announced on Instagram that she needs a “minor procedure” to address recent injuries. Although she received treatments for temporary relief, her doctors advised that a full tour would be too demanding.
The procedure requires a 6-8 week recovery period, preventing her from moving forward with the Straight Up! To Canada Tour, as well as scheduled performances in Alaska and North Dakota. Abdul expressed heartfelt apologies to her fans, saying the news deeply saddened her.
The 21-city tour was slated to launch Sept. 25 in Victoria, British Columbia, with Taylor Dayne and Tiffany scheduled as opening acts. Other impacted cities include London October 19th, Ottawa October 21st and Kingston October 22nd.
