Strathroy-Caradoc Council has approved a pedestrian crossover at Adelaide Road and Bowan Street in Mount Brydges, and directed staff to begin Pedestrian Crossover Studies with Middlesex County at Adelaide Road and Woods Edge Road, and Adelaide Road and Lions Park Drive for potential new crosswalks.
A report to council last week said the new crossing will improve the existing school crossing, align with the 2024 sidewalk upgrades on Bowan Street, and ensure the crossing remains on the side with the most pedestrian traffic. Middlesex County will handle the material and installation, expected in 2025. Middlesex County will also study the proposed crossings at Woods Edge Road and Lions Park Drive and provide recommendations for future pedestrian treatments to Strathroy-Caradoc.
