Strathroy-Caradoc Council has approved a contract for $77,821.04 plus HST with Marco Clay to install baseball diamond infrastructure at Royals Field and Yorkview Community Park Bantam Diamond. This project is part of the Jays Care Foundation Field of Dreams initiative, aimed at relocating hardball from Royals Field to Yorkview.
This move addresses safety concerns due to Royals Field’s proximity to Caradoc Street and nearby facilities. The improved setup at Yorkview will minimize risks from stray baseballs. Meanwhile, Alexandra Park’s diamond will be adapted for various baseball formats. Municipal staff are currently removing existing baseball infrastructure to prepare for the new installations.
